A widowed thaumaturge that made it big with a sweet treat, selling the rights off to bigger players. The recipe was never hers but she never told the buyers that!
Now, frittering away her fortune she has decided to take up adventuring across the realm as a means to explore Hydaelin in it's fullest.

The Greater Jist of It

Once upon a time before the Calamity, Veronica was a student of the Arrzaneth Ossuary, working the funeral services. After the calamity however, it mattered not how well business was, there was just too much. Too much grief.She had saught to amend this by opening a confectionery stall in Ul'Dah dedicated to her late husband, Cecil Applebough. Many of her likeminded coworkers at the ossuary joined her pursuit, leading over time to the creation of a sweetened churned cream-based dessert - frozen up with the use of ice-aspected aether crystals. Safe to say that was a hit.So much of a hit that a representative of M.M.&Co. bought the rights to said treat and it's means of preservation in anticipation for the soon-to-open Gold Saucer. Little details of who exactly came up with the formula weren't important to Veronica! Especially since the answer was "Not Veronica!"
Surely this won't bite her in the ass in the years to come...As the time went on, she found herself working under various free companies of adventurers, presently settling down with one known as The Blue Birds.Of course, as time continued further and this character has interacted with the wider world; she has found herself in the rankings of "Eorzea's Greatest Fighter" as a contestant while still working formally with the The Blue Birds Adventuring Company. And possibly even back within the Order of Nald'thal as an advisor.

The Echo, and why it sucks.

As much as Veronica has had the Echo since the times of Seventh Umbral Calamity, she was yet unaware of what it truly was. Had she not been presently grieving her husband's departure during the riots, she would have realised the reverberations of "Hear, Feel, Think," were in fact more than grief and stress-induced delusions.For the longest time her Echo only manifested in the form of oddly specific hunches never leading her stray. However with a chance head injury not long before the commencement of the final days, the hunches mutated into full blown flashbacks of others' past experiences. Do they come with context? Most often not. What they do come with, however, is a propensity to faint seconds after the flashback commences.
